This is our official Relationship Claim thread and listed below are all of the characters currently in play and their status romantically. Please note that this is their CURRENT romantic status; past relationships are NOT to be posted here under any circumstance. We understand that people have pasts, but this is not the place for it. Please keep all past relationships discussed in actual roleplay or in your plot pages. The only status we are accepting are the following: Single, Hooking Up, Courting, Dating, Engaged, or Married. Yes; we are aware there are other more finite terms of human interaction but for the sake of the boards these are all we are using. Do not assume, even if it is canon in one of the many incarnations of the genre, that your ship will be going on this list if there is no player for your significant other. We are not forcing people into ships they do not want and if we find that a player has tried to bully people into or out of their ships, they will be dealt with swiftly. For a ship to be included on this list we need both players to agree to it equally and we expect that all players will respect every ship regardless of personal feelings on the matter. There will be no bullying, belitting, or other childish behaviors, nor will there be deliberate sabotage of any of the relationships listed below in or out of game. As they are now all listed for everyone to see, no one can claim ignorance as to their existence. With that being said; on to the important stuff! Characters will be listed in Alphabetical Order in both the Relationship Claim itself and the list as a whole. As for what to claim we have this handy little guide and if you have any questions PM Admin Jess (Lilith)!
|| Single ||
Santiago de Andrada
|| Hooking Up ||
|| Courting ||
Alec Lightwood and Magnus Bane
Jocelyn Fray and Luke Garroway

Clary Fray and Jace Wayland
Hayley Marshall and Niklaus Mikaelson
Elena Gilbert and Damon Salvatore
These folks are those looking or not looking for love. They are unattached and currently have no romantic interests, prospects, or anything going on. This is the best bet if there is NO romantic ties or writing going on for whatever reason.
Example: Jane is Single.
CHARACTER NAME is Single
|| Hooking Up ||
These are the people who are having casual, non-romantic sex. No feelings whatsoever. Just fun times with one or lots of people and other frisky shenanigans. This is the best bet for people who are writing characters who have no emotional ties to the people they are flirting with/messing around with/having sex with. Again, feelings don't tend to exist here. This is when you declare the other character being actively played that your character is fooling around with. If you are just messing around with NPCs, you will be listed as 'Single'.
Example: Jane and John are Hooking Up.
CHARACTER NAME and CHARACTER NAME are Hooking Up
|| Courting ||
This is where things start getting interesting. When there is someone special that your character has their eye on but for one reason or another there is no actual commitment yet. Sometimes it's because timing was never right, other times it's because someone is antsy with commitment and can't handle things being 'official'. It is an ambiguous gray area that has one thing in high importance. There are two (or more) people who genuinely like each other but have yet to dedicate fully to the idea.
Example: Jane and John are Courting.
CHARACTER NAME and CHARACTER NAME are Courting
|| Dating ||
Then we have these characters who are actively in a relationship. There is commitment here whether or not there are titles that denote that importance. While some people shout to the mountaintops who their boyfriend or girlfriend is, some people prefer a commitment without the need for flashy loud shows of affection when it can be just as deeply felt in it's nuance. This commitment can be hours old or decades but one thing remains; these people are paired off and have dedicated time to their loved ones in a significant enough way as to declare another person Theirs and that they belong to Them.
Example: Jane and John are Dating.
CHARACTER NAME and CHARACTER NAME are Dating
|| Engaged ||
This is the important, occasionally skipped, next rung in the relationship ladder. These couples (no matter the number of people involved if a relationship is poly, we're going to call them a 'couple' for sake of verbiage) are taking the next step in their commitment to one another by declaring their intent to marry. This can be as short or as long as they want or need, but the level of dedication that comes from saying that these people wish to spend their lives together is nothing to take lightly.
Example: Jane and John are Engaged.
CHARACTER NAME and CHARACTER NAME are Engaged
And finally we have our married couples! They could have had a simple ceremony, an ornate one, multiple times or even a certificate without the pomp and circumstance; no matter the flavor of wedding, these characters are in a lifelong committed relationship that is legally protected and socially honored. While we acknowledge there are cases where people who have been dating for a decade or more to be considered 'domestic partnerships', we will be listed them on this board as 'dating' and not married.
Example: Jane and John are Married.
CHARACTER NAME and CHARACTER NAME are Married
The saddest of our relationship claims, but no less important. Those who have been widowed are in a strange place romantically. Their marriage could have been anything from blissful to tumultuous to even simply those of duty. But being a widow or widower is a complicated and oddly lonely place. And while some never open their hearts to love after their loss, others one day can sometimes find that connection and happiness again.
Example: Jane is a Widow.
CHARACTER NAME is a Widow/Widower
Please post here as soon as possible after approval and during play so players can be kept updated as to what plotting and shipping is canon on our boards. Relationships are fluid, so every time it changes please post here. It does not matter which shipping partner posts as long as both agree that is where your characters are CURRENTLY at.
So please remember!
It is your responsibility to do so!
POST IN AND OUT OF CODE USING CODE BOXES!
I'm not accepting claims that are not in proper format since it makes updating the code a nightmare.
