Coffee, Nectar of the Gods (Open)
Posted: Mar 9, 2018 | 3:02 pm
Elena was in need of coffee. It had been a long week and she was feeling it. Even if she was a vampire she still needed rest just like anyone else. Granted she’d drunk coffee earlier so she wouldn’t feel cold to the touch. The smell of the coffee house invigorated her and added a spring in her step. It was time to get back into the swing of things and she was excited.
Her plans were simple; relax with a cup of coffee and then work on some homework. Her last attempt at it had left much to be desired but she had stayed up extra late to finish it. Now she needed to recover from staying up so late. Her day was free for the most part and she was happy to relax.
Waiting her turn in line she glanced around. She was in her usual converse with a v-neck shirt in red. It was a nice day out and she wanted to get a little bit of sun. Her hair was its usual dark cascade of brown down her back. It swayed slightly as she made her way up the line. She hadn’t realized this many people were into coffee but she supposed they would have to be to keep a shop like this. It looked nice. She liked the art on the walls and the music in the background was nice without making you sleepy.
The line began to move forward again and she recognized one of cheerleaders from school. She chatted to her about how things were going and they soon got engrossed in discussing moves and how best to manage some of the moves that they had to do. She offered a bit of advice on posture and balance and then waited for the other woman to order her coffee and dessert. The scent of baked goods made her mouth water and she debated what she wanted to have with her coffee.
Finally the line moved up and she was facing the barista with her order, “Coffee with two sugars and cream and one of those slices of coffee cake, please.” She said warmly as she passed her credit card over to be scanned. Today was going to be a good day. Elena was confident it would only get better from here. New businesses (well new to her, she realized the coffee house had been here a bit) in Mystic Falls were a good thing.
